Today I realized I have not posted any pictures of Mulligan.
So, I pulled some pics of my phone (hence the blurriness in some of them).
You can tell he is my dog because he: 1) likes the Mets, 2) likes beer, and 3) likes naps.

Is this funny for anyone else? Or just those of us who work with/for the government?
COLGATE DAY
Such a beautiful campus. These photos make me miss Colgate, New York, and the four seasons. Well, let’s be honest here, i can do without the brutal winters with all of the lake effect snow. I do, however, miss the fall and spring.
GO ‘GATE!
In honor of Colgate Day, I couldn’t resist informing everyone that Colgate University was ranked 28th best American College by Forbes. GO ‘GATE!
I’m not sure what metrics they used to for this ranking system, but it is interesting to note that the small liberal arts schools generally out performed (err…out ranked) the large universities.
Horray for a well-rounded education.
While growing up in NY, the weather was never a surprise to me: summer was hot, fall was brisk and pleasant, spring was wet, and winter was cold and snowy. But now that I live in Northern California, the weather always surprises me—so called “microclimates”. Supposedly it’s what makes the wine great. Right now, it’s generally hot in the Tri-Valley (where I live), about 10 degrees colder in Oakland, and yet another 10 degrees colder (and overcast) in San Francisco. I am finally starting to bring a jacket with me as I travel West. (I still do not wear real shoes. I’m still working on my flip flop tan. ;))
Well, I was surprised on Saturday to find out that it was FREEZING at the beach in Carmel. Who would have thought that it was going to be 50 degrees in California during the summer? Clearly I did not and neither did Mulligan (poor little guy, he’s shaved).
Despite being VERY cold at the beach, the day in Carmel was great. Tina and I carpooled down to Carmel. We stopped at Phil’s Fish Market in Moss Landing for lunch. It was incredible. Very fresh fish/seafood. I had the blackened halibut sandwich. Hmmm tasty!
We walked around a bit in Carmel, window shopped, and let Mulligan play with random dogs before meeting up with the others for a BBQ at the beach. It’s pretty neat that the city of Carmel lets people build bon fires at the beach. We cooked up some great sausages, peppers, mushrooms, corn, tri-tip, and pork chops. All the food was great. Even with the little bit of sand that made it into the food.
